At the center of the city is a historic building now known as the Provincial Capitol. Yes. Bacolod is the capital of Negros Occidental. The provincial offices and the governor is housed here.

Directly in front of the Provincial capitol is the Provincial lagoon with its iconic waterscape. Littered in the park are relics of artwork from European artists.
